The suspicions are confirmed: all teams in the national Iberdrola women’s kayak polo league fear the young players, who continue to make strides in both camaraderie and gameplay.

On the weekend of June 5th and 6th, the third tournament of the Iberdrola women’s kayak polo league took place at Marina Burriananova, representing the top national category.

Despite not winning most of their matches—indeed, this weekend they only won one match, which was for the 9th and 10th positions—the Regatas Burriana girls have managed to make every team that faces them take them seriously as worthy opponents.

The team that always seems to be smiling this tournament is composed of: 1 Paula, 2 Ale, 3 Johana, 5 Carmen, 6 Rocío, 7 Lucia, 10 Blanca, 14 CarmenLo, and 16 Raquel.

There is still much work ahead, as the women’s team project has only just begun.

The local club, Club Regatas Burriana, introduced their very young female team with the goal of having fun and gaining more experience in the top league.

The progress from the first tournament to this (the 3rd tournament) has been spectacular. The way they play and their confidence on the field has made it so that no team, even those confident of winning, underestimates them. It is noteworthy that they have scored at least one goal in every match, showing their ability to reach the goal.

The girls are very pleased with their performance and the strong team spirit they are building. They are now focused on the next and final tournament, which will also be held here in Burriananova, aiming to finish 8th overall.
