VALÈNCIA (EFE). A total of twelve teams from Regional Preferente will compete for three promotion spots to the Third Division after the Football Federation of the Community of Valencia (FFCV) decided to end regional competitions due to the sanitary, social, and legal situation arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Only in amateur competitions where promotion to a national category was planned, the promotion will be held in a reduced format, without spectators, at a neutral venue, and as a single match.

In the case of Regional Preferente, promotions to the Third Division will be decided through knockout rounds between 12 teams—the top three teams from each of the four groups in the category. The first knockout round will consist of six matches drawn by lot, with four games between the first and third-placed teams in the regular season and two matches between the second-placed teams in their respective groups. The winners of each match will advance to the second and final round.

The winners of these three matchups will be promoted to Group VI of the Third Division. In the event of a tie after the match, there will be no extra time, and the winner will be determined by a penalty shootout.

The twelve teams competing in this promotion phase are: Benicarló, Burriana, and Castellón B from Group I; Buñol, Torrent, and San Marcelino from Group II; Castellonense, Muro, and Tavernes from Group III; and Villajoyosa, CFI Alicante, and Rayo Ibense from Group IV.
